Summary: At InfoComm 2026, NCS joined Patrick Heyn, Vice President of Marketing for Q-SYS, for a look at the company’s latest workplace technology. From the scalable Q-SYS RoomSuite Modular System and new RoomSuite Collaboration Bar to the NVM Series for large-scale network video distribution, Q-SYS is expanding its platform to help organizations simplify deployment, standardize collaboration spaces, and manage AV technology across rooms, buildings, and campuses.
As part of our InfoComm 2026 Booth Tour & Interview Series, NCS caught up with Patrick Heyn, Vice President of Marketing for Q-SYS, for a closer look at several of the company’s latest workplace and video distribution solutions.
The conversation centered on three areas: simplifying the deployment of meeting room technology, extending the Q-SYS platform into more standardized collaboration spaces, and bringing Q-SYS video distribution to much larger applications. Patrick walked us through the Q-SYS RoomSuite family, including the RoomSuite Modular System and new RoomSuite Collaboration Bar, before showing how the NVM Series expands native Q-SYS network video into applications such as hospitality and entertainment.
Across the lineup, the common theme is scale: making it easier to deploy AV consistently across more spaces without giving up the flexibility to adapt to different room and application requirements.
RoomSuite Brings a More Scalable Approach to Collaboration Spaces
Organizations rarely have just one type of meeting room. A workplace may include huddle spaces, standard conference rooms, executive boardrooms, training rooms, classrooms, divisible spaces, and other environments with very different audio and video requirements.
At the same time, IT and AV teams increasingly need those rooms to provide a consistent user experience and be easier to deploy, monitor, and support. That is the challenge Q-SYS RoomSuite is designed to address.
Rather than approaching every collaboration space as an entirely separate AV system, RoomSuite gives organizations multiple ways to standardize rooms while staying connected to the broader Q-SYS platform. For more nuanced medium and large rooms, there is the RoomSuite Modular System. For more repeatable spaces where simplicity is the priority, Q-SYS now offers the RoomSuite Collaboration Bar.
Together, the two approaches give organizations more flexibility to match the technology to the room instead of forcing every room into the same design.
RoomSuite Modular Simplifies More Complex Meeting Rooms
Q-SYS introduced the RoomSuite Modular System earlier in 2026 for medium to large collaboration spaces that need more flexibility than a traditional all-in-one room solution. These are the rooms where layouts, camera placement, microphone coverage, loudspeaker requirements, or other AV needs may vary from one space to another.
Traditionally, that additional flexibility can also mean more complexity. RoomSuite Modular takes a different approach.
As Patrick explained during our interview, key processing, networking, video, and AV bridging capabilities are consolidated into the system while the room is set up through a web-based workflow. One of the biggest distinctions is that the system is configured rather than traditionally programmed.
That can make it easier to create repeatable room standards without requiring every deployment to start with a custom programming process. Organizations can establish an approach for their medium and large conference rooms and then adapt the peripheral devices around the specific requirements of each space.
For an enterprise managing dozens or hundreds of rooms, that can help reduce the number of completely unique systems IT and AV teams must deploy and support.
The RoomSuite Collaboration Bar Brings Simplicity to More Rooms
At InfoComm, Q-SYS expanded the RoomSuite family with the new RoomSuite Collaboration Bar. The Windows-based collaboration bar is designed for organizations that want a more streamlined room solution while still taking advantage of the broader Q-SYS platform.
The bar combines four cameras, built-in microphones, loudspeakers, compute, and intelligent camera capabilities into an integrated device. For the people walking into the room, the goal is straightforward: make starting and participating in a meeting simple.
Behind the scenes, however, the RoomSuite Collaboration Bar remains part of a much larger platform. That distinction is important.
A standalone video bar may work well in an individual room, but managing large numbers of independent devices across an organization can become increasingly complicated. Q-SYS is approaching the collaboration bar as another extension of the Q-SYS ecosystem instead of an isolated room appliance.
Organizations can use a simplified solution in the room while maintaining a more centralized approach to managing their AV environment.
From a Single Meeting Room to an Entire AV Environment
One of the biggest themes Patrick emphasized was the ability to connect RoomSuite systems to the cloud and manage them as part of the larger Q-SYS platform. Q-SYS Reflect provides the cloud-based monitoring and management layer for Q-SYS deployments.
That creates an important advantage as collaboration technology expands across an organization. Instead of looking at meeting rooms as isolated systems, AV and IT teams can gain greater visibility into technology deployed across multiple rooms and locations.
For organizations with corporate offices, campuses, education facilities, government buildings, or other environments containing many AV-enabled spaces, centralized visibility can become just as important as the technology inside an individual conference room. The ability to standardize the room experience while also improving how those systems are monitored and maintained can help make larger deployments more manageable.
It also allows organizations to think beyond the question of, “What technology should go in this conference room?” The conversation becomes, “How should collaboration technology operate across our entire organization?”
NVM Series Takes Q-SYS Video Distribution to a Much Larger Scale
The booth tour then moved beyond the conference room. Q-SYS also introduced the NVM Series network video endpoints, expanding the platform’s approach to video distribution for much larger applications.
Q-SYS has already supported network video within collaboration environments. NVM Series is designed to extend those capabilities into applications requiring video distribution at a much greater scale.
That opens the platform to environments such as hospitality, entertainment, government, collaboration spaces, and other facilities where video may need to move between a large number of sources and displays. Think beyond a conference room with one or two displays.
A hotel, casino, entertainment venue, large campus, command environment, or other complex facility may require video to be distributed across dozens or even hundreds of endpoints. The traditional approach can involve separate video distribution, control, audio, and management platforms.
With NVM Series, Q-SYS is bringing large-scale network video distribution further into the same platform used for audio and control. For designers and technology teams, the potential advantage is a more unified system architecture.
Instead of treating video distribution as a completely separate technology layer, it can become another part of the overall Q-SYS environment.
Video Built Into the Platform
That platform approach is an important part of the NVM Series story. As AV continues moving onto the network, organizations are managing an increasing number of connected technologies.
Audio, cameras, displays, control systems, conferencing platforms, digital signage, and network video can all become part of the same facility. The more separately those systems operate, the more complicated deployment and management can become.
Q-SYS is working toward a model where audio, video, and control operate as parts of the same platform. For large video systems, that can mean keeping video distribution within the Q-SYS environment instead of introducing an entirely separate management and control architecture.
It can also create more opportunities for automation. Video routing, audio, room controls, displays, and other connected systems can work together as part of a broader technology experience rather than as individual devices performing isolated functions.
Standardization Without Making Every Space the Same
One of the most interesting takeaways from our Q-SYS booth tour is that standardization does not necessarily mean making every room identical. A small meeting room and an executive boardroom do not have the same requirements, and a conference room and a hospitality video distribution system are even further apart.
The goal is not to put the same hardware everywhere.
Instead, the Q-SYS platform provides a common foundation that can scale into different types of spaces. A standardized conference room may use the RoomSuite Collaboration Bar, while a more complex meeting space may use RoomSuite Modular. A large facility requiring network video distribution may incorporate NVM Series.
Those systems can remain connected through the larger Q-SYS platform and its management capabilities. For IT and AV teams, that can provide a more practical path toward standardization: fewer disconnected technology environments without sacrificing the ability to design around the needs of each space.
Building the Next Generation of Collaboration Spaces
The workplace continues to change, and collaboration technology has to support a much broader range of spaces than it did even a few years ago. Users expect rooms to be simple, IT teams need systems that can be deployed and supported efficiently, and AV teams still need the flexibility to solve more complex room requirements.
Organizations also increasingly need visibility into technology across the entire enterprise rather than one room at a time. Q-SYS’s InfoComm 2026 announcements address each of those challenges from a different direction.
The RoomSuite Collaboration Bar creates a simplified option for repeatable meeting spaces. RoomSuite Modular extends that model into rooms requiring more flexibility. NVM Series takes the platform into large-scale video distribution.
Together, they show how Q-SYS is expanding from individual AV systems toward a broader, connected technology platform.
