Trinity Metro Fort Worth Central Station AV and PA System Upgrade

Bringing World-Class Technology to Fort Worth Central Station

With the 2026 FIFA World Cup coming to North Texas, Trinity Metro needed Fort Worth Central Station ready to handle an influx of international visitors while delivering a seamless passenger experience. Trinity Metro selected NCS to design and install a complete audiovisual and public address system upgrade across the station, ensuring fans, commuters, and staff would all benefit from modern, reliable communications technology on one of transit’s biggest stages.

A Newline LED Video Wall That Commands Attention

The centerpiece of the project is a nearly 32-foot-wide Newline direct-view LED video wall installed in the station’s main public concourse. The Newline display delivers high-definition content from multiple sources and gives Trinity Metro a powerful tool for passenger communications, event messaging, and real-time transit information.

NCS integrated the Newline video wall with a Q-SYS Core 24f processor and a TSC-70-G3 touchscreen control panel, giving station staff full control over content sources, display layouts, and operational presets from a single, easy-to-use interface. All cabling infrastructure, processor configuration, and commissioning were completed by NCS, including color calibration and brightness optimization for the station environment.

Temporary Outdoor PA System for World Cup Queue Management

To support the surge of passengers expected on World Cup match days, NCS also engineered a temporary outdoor public address system for Trinity Metro’s downtown Fort Worth passenger queue area. The covered queue stretches 330 feet and can hold up to 1,000 passengers at a time.

Eight weatherized speakers were permanently mounted to the awning pillars at 40-foot intervals, with all cabling routed overhead to keep the floor completely clear and safe for passengers. The system connects each morning through a single cable to a pre-wired rolling equipment rack that staff store indoors overnight. Announcements automatically duck background music and restore it once the page is finished. NCS completed a full walk test across the entire queue and trained Trinity Metro staff on daily operation before the system went live.

Ready for the World Cup and Beyond

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is one of the most significant events North Texas has ever hosted, and Fort Worth Central Station will play a central role in the fan experience from start to finish. The technology NCS installed gives Trinity Metro the tools to communicate clearly, manage large crowds confidently, and deliver a transit experience worthy of a global audience. More importantly, every system was built with longevity in mind, continuing to serve Trinity Metro’s daily riders long after the final whistle blows.
