The Lawn at The Lakefront™
NCS integrates sound system and video surveillance for uniform acoustical coverage and safety for the Town of Little Elm’s new performance pavilion, expanding its outreach to the local community and neighboring communities.
The Lawn at The Lakefront™ for the Town of Little Elm
Parks play a pivotal role in our communities. They offer spaces for physical activity, mental relaxation, and community bonding. According to the National Recreation and Parks Association, Americans visit their local parks over twice a month[1]. Beyond recreation, parks contribute environmental benefits, protect against pollution, and provide safe areas away from the urban hustle. A prime example of such a beneficial space is The Lawn at The Lakefront™.
Situated at the heart of the dynamic Lakefront district, The Lawn at The Lakefront™ has undergone a transformation that elevates its stature as Little Elm’s premier community space. Covering 87,120 sq. ft., this park, underpinned by Little Elm’s Strategic Plan, is poised at the epicenter of a mixed-use area brimming with urban living and a shopping district.
Adjacent residential and retail businesses and the Tinman Social entertainment venue set a lively stage. This backdrop accentuates the park’s grand lawn and performance pavilion, enriched further by a distinctive playground that blends water play with a passive shaded grove. The park’s design is both thoughtful and innovative, seamlessly integrating mature trees, a pedestrian neighborhood link, interactive lighting setups, and architectural elements that pay homage to the neighboring historic “Tin Man” water tower.
NCS played a crucial role in achieving the new vision for the park by integrating an advanced sound system and video surveillance for uniform acoustical coverage and safety. Let’s dive into how.
Outdoor Stage Sound System
A hallmark of the revamped pavilion is its state-of-the-art sound system, meticulously designed and implemented by NCS. With the vision of achieving uniform lawn coverage for every performance, NCS embraced a holistic approach, overseeing the design, installation, commissioning, and programming of the AV systems throughout the pavilion.
A standout feature is the overhead roof structure. This pavilion-style stage now boasts Bose ArenaMatch loudspeakers, PowerMatch amplifiers, and a ControlSpace-engineered sound processor. Complementing this setup are Shure vocal microphones, ensuring that every note, every word, resonates with clarity, meeting the high standards expected by contemporary live event venues.
These additions provide some significant benefits:
- Optimized Sound Quality: Dedicated outdoor sound systems are designed to handle open-air acoustics, delivering clear and balanced audio, and ensuring both performers and audiences enjoy an enhanced auditory experience.
- Uniform Coverage: Advanced sound systems ensure consistent and even sound dispersion, allowing every audience member, whether near or far from the stage, to experience uniform sound quality.
- Durability in Varied Conditions: Outdoor stage sound systems are built to withstand various weather conditions, ensuring longevity, and reducing the need for frequent replacements or repairs.
- Professional Performances: An integrated sound system elevates the quality of live events, offering a professional audio experience that can cater to various performances, from concerts to spoken word events.
Video Surveillance System
But NCS’s work wasn’t confined to just sound. Recognizing the paramount importance of safety within community spaces, NCS incorporated an advanced video surveillance system.
This system comprises four strategically placed Hanwha cameras, ensuring comprehensive visibility throughout both the lawn and pavilion areas. Further enhancing its utility, the Wisenet Network Video Recorder (NVR) seamlessly integrates with the Town of Little Elm’s pre-existing camera system.
These additions provide some significant benefits:
- Enhanced Security: Surveillance systems deter potential wrongdoers and offer real-time monitoring, ensuring the safety of both attendees and the facility.
- Event Oversight: Video systems allow event organizers and security personnel to monitor crowd dynamics, ensuring smooth crowd movement and immediate response to any potential disturbances.
- Evidence Documentation: In the unlikely event of incidents, video footage serves as a valuable resource for investigations, providing clear evidence of the event’s occurrences.
When Innovation Meets Community Aspirations
NCS’s expert integration of top-tier technology has elevated The Lawn at The Lakefront™ to a new standard of community engagement and security. The enhancements represent innovation and commitment to the Town of Little Elm’s vision. It signifies more than technological progress—it embodies a vision of unity, safety, and unparalleled communal experience.
