The replacement of the 33-year-old facility provides the Mansfield Police Department with an updated space that accommodates its growth as it continues serving the community. Previously, the department’s detectives, evidence room, and administration were relocated to the Public Safety Building, which caused a split in the department and hindered effective communication and collaboration.

The new facility, built on the site of the former police station and jail, covers 53,000 square feet and includes two additional support buildings, each measuring 7,000 square feet. These new support structures are designated for SWAT operations, canine units, and vehicle services. The new layout will help reunite the department’s teams and enhance their ability to serve the over 80,000 residents of Mansfield.

Critical areas within the two-story main building include dispatch and communications, holding cells, a crime lab, property and evidence storage, a backup Emergency Operations Center (EOC), department-specific office spaces, and a community-oriented multipurpose area. The facility will also feature two separate support buildings designed to meet the current and future needs of the Mansfield Police Department.

Our crews designed and installed an extensive fiber optic infrastructure and structured cabling backbone within the building footprint to optimize and future-proof operations. The network infrastructure includes:
