Frisco City Hall Renovation
The City of Frisco—one of the fastest-growing municipalities in the country—recently undertook a major renovation of the George A. Purefoy Municipal Center, home to City Hall and the public-facing services residents rely on daily. With an expanding workforce, new public services, and increasing demand for hybrid access to government meetings, the city saw the opportunity to completely modernize its technology backbone.
NCS delivered a comprehensive technology infrastructure solution encompassing structured cabling and state-of-the-art audiovisual systems. This unified approach ensures the facility’s digital foundation is as future-ready as the services it delivers.
NCS’s Role: Structured Cabling Infrastructure
Our team integrated the core cabling infrastructure across multiple floors of the remodeled City Hall, including:
Telecom Room Installations
Integrated forty-seven Uniprise 48-port Cat 6 patch panels and twelve 48-port Cat 6A patch panels, designed with 20% additional capacity to support future growth. Separate patch panels were included for county-managed areas to ensure clear service separation.
Horizontal Copper Cabling
Installed over 1,400 Uniprise blue Cat 6 plenum cables serving workstations, modular furniture, security cameras, AV equipment, and wall phones.
Wireless Access Point Cabling
Installed 336 Uniprise yellow Cat 6A plenum cables to support 168 wireless access points, providing a high-performance wireless backbone ready for future upgrades. NCS also installed owner-provided access points to complete the system.
Pathway Supports & Fire-Rating
Designed and installed an independent cable pathway support system anchored to the building structure for organized, code-compliant runs.
System Readiness & Performance
Provided full connectivity from telecom rooms to work areas, including over 3,400 Cat 6 and Cat 6A patch cords. All installed cabling was tested and certified to meet performance standards, ensuring long-term reliability.
NCS’s Role: Audiovisual Systems Integration
NCS also installed advanced AV systems to transform public and staff-facing spaces. Highlights include:
Training Rooms 252/253:
98″ Sharp E Series flat panels, 4K UHD AV-over-IP systems, wireless presentation, PTZ cameras, ceiling microphones, and upgraded loudspeakers—creating high-tech training and public meeting spaces.
Flex/Meeting Room 250:
Added 86″ flat panel displays, workstation lecterns, wireless charging, annotation pen displays, and integrated control panels to support collaborative sessions and public gatherings.
McCallum Multipurpose Room:
Installed a 164″ Planar LED video wall, audio DSP, ceiling loudspeakers, wireless presentation technology, and centralized control—allowing for large-scale community meetings, presentations, and live-streamed events.
All AV systems were integrated with the city’s Swagit platform to enable live streaming and public broadcasting of council meetings and events.
