Magos Systems at ISC West 2026: Smarter Perimeter Detection with Radar and AI

Magos systems at isc west smarter perimeter detection with radar and ai

Summary: At ISC West 2026, Magos Systems showcased their ground-based perimeter radar solution and MassAI software platform, designed to detect and classify people and vehicles at distances up to 1,000 meters while filtering out the nuisance alarms that create alert fatigue in traditional security environments. Their hardware-agnostic, low-power radar integrates with leading VMS platforms and camera manufacturers, giving security operations centers a reliable, validated alert stream rather than a constant flood of false positives. This post covers how the technology works, where it is being deployed, and what it means for organizations protecting large or remote perimeters.

Perimeter security has always been a challenge of scale. The larger the site, the more ground there is to cover, the more sensors are required, and the more alerts a security operations center has to manage. For many organizations, that last part has become the biggest problem of all. A system that generates constant false alarms does not make a security team more effective. Over time, it makes them less effective because operators become conditioned to dismiss alerts before they have fully assessed them.

Magos Systems was built specifically to address that problem. At ISC West 2026, we visited their booth for a closer look at how their radar and AI platform is changing the way organizations approach perimeter detection.

What Magos Systems Does

Magos Systems develops ground-based perimeter radar solutions designed for critical infrastructure, large facilities, and any environment where extending detection range and reducing false alarms are the priority. Their platform combines radar hardware with their proprietary MassAI software to create a layered detection and classification system that goes well beyond what a standard camera-based perimeter solution can deliver.

The core value proposition is straightforward: detect more, alarm less, and close the response gap faster.

Radar Plus MassAI: Dual Validation That Reduces Alert Fatigue

What separates Magos from other perimeter detection approaches is the combination of radar technology and MassAI working together. When a detection event occurs, the system does not simply trigger an alert. It performs a dual validation and classification of the object, determining whether what it has detected is a person, a vehicle, or something that does not require a security response at all.

That classification layer is what eliminates the nuisance alarms that plague legacy perimeter systems. Wind moving through vegetation, small animals, shadows, and other environmental factors that routinely trigger camera-based or basic motion detection systems are filtered out before they ever reach an operator. The alerts that do reach the security operations center are validated, classified, and actionable.

Alert fatigue is a real and well-documented problem in security operations. When a team receives hundreds of false alarms over the course of a shift, genuine threats can get lost in the noise. Magos addresses this at the detection layer rather than asking operators to sort through the noise themselves.

How It Works in a Real Environment

During the booth demo, Magos walked through a real-world scenario using an electrical substation as the example site. Detection zones were configured within the MassAI software, and a PTZ camera was integrated directly into the system. When a person crossed a virtual threshold defined within the radar coverage area, the system automatically directed the PTZ to the location of the detection event and held the notification until the classification was confirmed. Only once the system validated a genuine intrusion did it send the alert to the security operator and trigger the downstream response workflow.

That sequence matters. A traditional camera-based perimeter system might send a PTZ to investigate and simultaneously alarm the SOC, leaving operators to determine on their own whether the event is real. With Magos, the validation happens before the notification goes out, which means every alert that reaches an operator already carries a higher degree of confidence.

Radar Hardware Built for Practical Deployment

The Magos radar units themselves are designed with installation and operational efficiency in mind. Key specifications include:

  • Detection range of up to 1,000 meters per unit
  • Coverage area of 100 to 120 degrees azimuth
  • Power consumption of just 11 to 35 watts, requiring only a network connection to the installation location
  • Lightweight and easy to install, reducing deployment time and infrastructure requirements

For large perimeters that would traditionally require a dense array of cameras to achieve coverage, a smaller number of Magos radar units can cover the same ground with significantly less infrastructure, lower power draw, and a more manageable alert stream.

Integrations With Leading VMS and Camera Platforms

Magos integrates with the leading video management systems on the market, including Genetec, Milestone, and Avigilon, as well as major camera manufacturers including Axis, Hanwha, Bosch, and Pelco. That integration breadth means Magos can be added to an existing security infrastructure without requiring organizations to replace their current camera or VMS investments.

For security teams that have already built out a camera network and VMS environment but are looking to extend their detection perimeter or reduce false alarm volume, Magos slots into the existing ecosystem rather than displacing it.

Where Magos Is Being Deployed

Magos was purpose-built for critical infrastructure and large-scale perimeter protection. Electrical substations, water treatment facilities, oil and gas sites, data centers, and other high-value facilities with expansive grounds are natural fits. Any organization that has struggled with legacy perimeter systems generating excessive false alarms and is looking for a more reliable detection layer should take a close look at what Magos brings to the table.

The conversations happening at ISC West 2026 reflected exactly that. Organizations that had lived with alarm fatigue from older systems were actively exploring Magos as a path to a cleaner, more reliable alert workflow.

What This Means for Your Security Program

Extending a perimeter and reducing false alarms are not mutually exclusive goals. Magos demonstrates that with the right combination of radar hardware and AI-driven classification, security teams can cover more ground, receive fewer irrelevant alerts, and respond faster when something genuinely requires their attention.
