Summary: NCS visited Extron’s Las Vegas showroom during InfoComm 2026, where Extron’s Manager of Product Marketing Nick LaCommare demonstrated three AV solutions for modern workspaces. The UCS 504 enables bring-your-own-meeting functionality through a simple two-box system. The MGP 641 xi 5K delivers customizable multi-window processing with built-in annotation capability via Link License. The DTP3 Crosspoint 42 combines USB and video switching in a compact enclosure for bring-your-own-device environments. NCS integrates Extron solutions for clients across Texas.
InfoComm 2026 gave us the opportunity to visit some of our technology partners beyond the convention center floor. Extron invited us to their Las Vegas showroom, where Nick LaCommare, Manager of Product Marketing, walked us through three products built for the way teams work today. This is Part 1 of a two-part series. Part 2 will feature Gabe Giangualano, Esports Solutions Manager, covering Extron’s Esports solutions. The tour covered three stations, each one built around a real-world scenario.
Making Meetings Simpler with the UCS 504
The first was a fully built-out Teams room, and Nick used it to walk through one of the more practical challenges AV integrators and end users face every day: what happens when someone walks into a room and needs to run a meeting from their own laptop?
The room was set up with a ceiling microphone, Extron speakers, Extron DSP, and a traditional USB camera — everything you’d find in a standard conference room. What makes the UCS 504 stand out is its bring-your-own-meeting capability. A user simply walks in, plugs in via USB-C or HDMI and USB, and immediately takes control of the room’s camera, microphone, and speakers to host the meeting from their own device. No complicated setup. No IT intervention. Just plug in and go.
The whole system runs on a two-box solution connected by a single twisted pair cable, keeping installation clean and cost-effective. For spaces where simplicity and flexibility are the priority, this is worth a close look. You can read the full press release here.
Multi-Window Flexibility with the MGP 641 xi 5K
The next station highlighted Extron’s multi-window processing capability. The MGP 641 xi 5K accepts four 4K HDMI inputs plus a background input, then outputs that content via HDMI or DTP to a display on the far end.
All of the windows on screen are fully customizable. You can move them around using saved presets, manage them on the fly through an iPad app, or hand control off to a control system entirely. That kind of flexibility makes it a strong fit for environments like command centers, broadcast spaces, or higher-ed classrooms where content needs to change quickly.
There’s also a software-enabled feature called Link License worth noting. With it, you can connect a touch display and annotate directly over the content being shown, with those annotations going live to the far end. That eliminates the need for a separate annotation device, simplifying the overall system and reducing cost. You can read the full MGP 641 xi 5K press release for complete specs and technical details.
Unified Switching for Flexible Workspaces with the DTP3 Crosspoint 42
The final station in Part 1 covered a product particularly well-suited for spaces that support multiple users or hybrid work scenarios.
The DTP3 Crosspoint 42 combines USB and video switching in a matrix configuration, all inside a compact enclosure. Inputs include USB-C for video, audio, and data, along with HDMI and the corresponding host ports. That combination makes it a natural fit for bring-your-own-device environments.
In practice, a room’s camera, microphone, speaker, keyboard, and mouse can all be connected to the DTP3 Crosspoint 42. When a different user plugs in, the system switches all of those peripherals over to the new input automatically. Two separate outputs also allow you to send content to a primary display and a secondary display or recording device at the same time. It’s a compact product doing a lot of heavy lifting. For spaces where multiple people share the same room technology, it’s a smart, scalable solution. Let’s Talk About Your Space
Designing a new conference room, upgrading an existing one, or planning a large-scale deployment all come with their own set of considerations. Our team at NCS works with clients across Texas to design and integrate AV systems that fit the way their people work. Reach out to NCS to start the conversation.
Stay tuned for Part 2, where Gabe Giangualano takes us through Extron’s Esports solutions.
