The History

Network Cabling Services has a history of very small beginnings. On April 16, 1981 I started a Texas corporation name JAR Instruments, Inc. with $10,000.00 in savings and a prayer. My first work area was a garage and my first office was a desk in our home bedroom. With such meager beginnings I thought that I needed a Great CEO. That is where the name JAR came from 'Jesus and Robert'. JAR was initially a repair shop for instruments mainly involving the petrochemical industry. The name was later changed to JAR Industries catering to making patch cables for data networks.

In 1990 a DBA and assumed name certificate was filed as Network Cabling Services with the business focusing on voice and data infrastructure. NCS was named as one of Houston's 100 fastest growing small businesses in 1995, 1997 and 1998. In 1999 as the largest provider of voice and data infrastructure in the city of Houston I sold to a national roll up company. In 2003 I purchased the company back and began the rebuilding process. A book could be written on all the victories, defeats, pain and tears, but not enough could be written about the hundreds of great employees along the way.

The company today still has hundreds of wonderful employees and the focus is still on Customer Satisfaction, Quality, Integrity and Communication. Lori Veltri and Mark Veltri as President and Chief Operating Officer have taken over the operations and majority ownership in the company. Lori is a highly organized and morale building President as well as my daughter and mother of my four wonderful grandchildren. Mark is a dedicated, high achieving Chief Operating Officer, son in law, Naval Academy graduate, naval officer and ten year navy pilot. I have always valued our organization as a family oriented business with our customers as our main focus. The blending of Mark and Lori's values and dedication will continue to take this company to great heights.
